Wright Clinical Collection

 
 

The Wright Clinical Collection (WCC) is a collection of almost 2000 isolates that are predominantly multidrug resistant. This collection is harnessed for various research goals in our group including screening for novel therapeutics or antibiotic adjuvants. The sources of the WCC strains are shown below with approximately 80% of isolates originating from Hamilton Health Science, 13% from Nigeria, and the rest from other sources.

The collection is focused on the ESKAPE pathogens (55%) and E. coli (17%) but has other pathogens as well. The distribution of the species in the WCC is shown below. Roughly half of the isolates have been sequenced. Some of the sequencing data is available here.
